Framed handmade embroidery is a new application of the Arraiolos stitch. Using cotton instead of wool, quadrilé instead of burlap, I made an embroidery – placed between two glasses and a frame – that is displayed on the wall. The adaptation processes were: Firstly, through “in situ” observation, I selected the mosaics and carried out a colour study with the aim of reproducing the real colors as faithfully as possible. Secondly, based on photos and posters, I made master patterns for each one. Finally, I do the embroidery by hand, taking on average a month and a half.
